NCHS was founded in 2006 to fulfill the need of providing Christian education to high school students in Kansas City's northland.
Two men, Jeff Baird and Danny McCubbin, came together and began discussions for the high school. Both in administrative roles at K-8 Christian schools, Danny and Jeff felt God leading them to pursue the vision of a high school. From interest meetings held early in 2006, a working committee and interim school board formed.
The vision for the school is that it would:
Be led by God
Offer options for Christian parents who desire faith to be reinforced in the educational system
Function as an independent institution which partners with other Christian schools and churches to share Christ’s love
Be located in Kansas City’s northland to meet the need of a Christian high school in this area
